I’m passionate about getting to know my patients’ stories, as they’ve shaped who I am both as a person and a dentist. My goal is to help turn challenges into success stories, providing the care that makes a positive impact. Growing up in a family of dentists in Salt Lake City, Utah, I followed in the footsteps of my father and three brothers, earning my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. I am committed to ongoing education to stay current with the latest in dentistry, ensuring my patients receive the best care. I am a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and SPEAR Education. I live in Arden with my wife, Megan, our four children, and our dog. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, golfing, attending sporting events, traveling with my family, and working with the youth in my church.

When you take a seat in my dental chair, you are my VIP for that appointment. My sole purpose will be to understand your needs and provide the highest quality of care I can give you. Simply put, I want to take care of you. I earned my undergraduate degree in business from BYU and my dental degree from Midwestern College of Dental Medicine in Arizona. I then spent four years as a dentist in the U.S. Navy at Parris Island, providing care for Marines at the recruit training center in Beaufort, SC. I’m happily married with four children, and my favorite hobby is spending time with my family. I also enjoy swimming, boating, skateboarding, biking, and exploring with my wife and kids.

Dr. Daniel Ashton is a proud native of the Carolinas. After graduating from Travelers Rest High School, he earned his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in Utah and completed his dental training at The Ohio State University. He joined Hendersonville Family Dental in 2019 and is excited to be back in western North Carolina, surrounded by its natural beauty and friendly faces. Dr. Ashton is committed to providing personalized care and empowering his patients with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their oral health. He uses advanced dental imaging and diagnostic technology to ensure every patient feels confident in their smile. Outside the office, he enjoys exploring WNC, dining at local spots like Papas & Beer and Postero, traveling, or relaxing at home with his long-haired chihuahua, Poncho. Dr. Ashton embraces the richness of life in North Carolina, both in nature and community.

Hi! I’m Dr. Buchanan, originally from Kennesaw, Georgia. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, then earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Sarasota, Florida. I love partnering with patients to create their ideal smile and improve their oral health, all while providing a comfortable, family-friendly environment with the highest quality care. My wife, Jessica, and I enjoy living in Asheville, hiking in the mountains, building woodworking projects, traveling, watching Georgia football, and hosting friends and family for game nights or a firepit.

Dr. Alexa Norian, DMD, is a New Jersey native who moved to Asheville in 2021 for its beautiful mountains and outdoors lifestyle. She earned a BS in Bioengineering from Pennsylvania State University and completed her dental doctorate at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she was inducted into the OKU National Dental Honor Society. After working as an associate in central NJ, she decided to move south. Dr. Norian is married to her husband, Evan, and they have a baby girl who keeps them busy. Outside of work, they enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and Asheville’s music scene. Dr. Norian is dedicated to providing comfortable, research-driven care and looks forward to meeting her new patients.

Hi, I’m Dr. Robert Henkel. I’ve practiced dentistry for 29 years, guided by the principles of treating others as I’d want to be treated and asking, “Would I do this on myself?” After retiring in 2019 and moving to Brevard, NC with my wife, Liz, I realized I missed practicing dentistry. I began volunteering at a free clinic in Cashiers, which reignited my passion for helping others. When I found Hendersonville Family Dental, I knew it was the perfect place to continue my career in an environment focused on excellence and compassionate care. I was born north of Chicago, earned a B.S. in Biology from Loyola University, and my D.D.S. from Northwestern University. I completed a fellowship in Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania before practicing for 29 years in Boston. I’ve seen firsthand how technology has advanced dentistry, from CEREC and lasers to 3D imaging and implants, and I combine these with traditional methods to provide the best care. Despite my childhood fear of dentists, I strive to make every patient’s experience as comfortable as possible. And no, I don’t have a Boston accent!

Dr. Ramsha’s dental journey began in Pakistan where she attended Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine. She was then accepted into the Advanced Standing dental program in Columbia University in New York City. Following this, she completed a dental residency program at the MAHEC in Asheville. There she learned the latest techniques in digital dentistry, performed surgery in an outpatient and operating room setting and became comfortable with treatment planning and executing complex cases. She has a passion for connecting with her patients and helping ease their anxieties when it comes to dental treatment. One of her main goals is to help patients gain confidence through improving their oral health. Outside of work, she loves trying new restaurants and recipes with her husband. She enjoys stand-up comedy, tennis, hiking and napping with her cat Bao.
